Achieving 14% natural alcohol, this blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon is both outrageously good and fairly priced. Stephane Derenoncourt, the consulting winemaker, has obtained plenty of mocha, espresso, and jammy strawberry and cherry characteristics along with moderately sweet tannin, and superb fruit as well as purity. Already delicious, it should provide lovely drinking during its first 5-6 years of life.
