The Parenchere estate occupies 160 hectares, in the heart of verdant countryside situated on the far eastern border of the Bordeaux region, at the gateway to Perigord. The estate takes its name from Pierre de Parencheres, Lord of Fourgoigneres, and dates from 1570. The vineyards themselves are concentrated on 65 hectares of vines planted on hillsides of clayey-limestone soil, forming the finest terroirs of the estate. The average age of the vineyards is 25 years, while the oldest vines reach 50 years of age. Thanks to appropriate winemaking on a plot y plot basis (each of the 32 plots is subject to special vatting arrangements) and a stringent selection of the finest batches, we make wines which, whatever the vintage, always demonstrate superb intensity and substantial structure, while yet remaining elegant and seductive. Parenchere is often commended by the major international critics, which explains why it is distributed in more than 30 countries throughout the world. You will be able to enjoy this wine when young, from its first year of bottling, if you take care to decant it into a carafe 2 hours before tasting it. However, it will get even better over 6 to 7 years. Merlot: 60%, Cabernet: 30%, Cab Franc: 9%, Malbec: 1% Specifications:Product Number:00459
