Made from 100% Tempranillo, grown at altitudes of 2,500 to 3,000 feet in limestone and clay soil. The vineyards, which average about 20 years of age, are dry-farmed and hand-harvested. "The wine is classically made but allowed to age in American barriques (rather than the more traditional large casks) for a full 12 months. The final product is quite expressive--ripe cherry and leather flavors of Tempranillo with vivid elements of minerality and toasty oak."
